Privacy policy — Recipe App

Last updated 10 October 2026

This policy explains what our recipe apps collect, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to Recipe App and to this website.

What we collect

DataWhy
A device identifier supplied by your phone The app has no sign-up and no password. On first launch it creates an account for you, identified by an id your phone provides (ANDROID_ID on Android, identifierForVendor on iOS). We store only a one-way hash of it, never the id itself. It is what returns your saved recipes to you if you reinstall the app, and it is never shared or used for advertising.
Email address — optional Only if you choose to back up your recipes so they can be restored on a new phone. We use it to send you a sign-in code, and for nothing else. You can use the whole app without giving us one.
The name you choose to display Shown on your own account screen. Optional.
Ingredients you enter and recipes you generate, save, like or rate To show your gallery and past searches, and to rank recipes other cooks see.
Photos of ingredients Sent to our AI provider to identify what is in them, then discarded. We do not store your photos.
Device information — a device identifier, platform, OS and app version, device model To keep the service working across your devices and to block abuse. Without this, someone abusing the service could simply create a new account.
IP address Security and abuse prevention. Deleted after 90 days of inactivity.
Approximate location — only if you allow it Used to find restaurants near you serving a dish you are viewing. We do not store your coordinates or build a location history. We keep only the city name against the listings you were shown.
Push notification token, if you allow notifications To send you notifications. Removed when you sign out or disable them.

What we do not do

Who we share data with

Restaurant listings

Some restaurant listings are paid placements. These are always marked Sponsored in the app. Payment affects the order listings appear in; it never changes whether a restaurant is shown as serving a dish. When you tap to call a restaurant we record that a call was made, along with the city — never your phone number or your location.

AI-generated content

Recipes are generated by AI and are not reviewed by a professional cook before you see them. Check cooking times, quantities and allergens yourself. You can report a recipe from inside the app.
